Spring/Summer 2012 is all about Geometrics.
Designers such as Mal Amiee, and Mara Hoffman create unusual style lines tracing shape after shape of bright colors and patterns. The color story for Spring/Summer 2012 is all about deep bluish green, sunny yellow, tickle me pink, periwinkle, and bright orange. I was inspired by the unusual shape of the Hugues Klein, red pod chair, as well as Cantao's wooden stack bracelets. For spring the mini dress is always in style, but Lorena Sarbu reinvents the typical mini made entirely of pieced geometric shapes in a breath taking periwinkle blue. Obviously the bikini is the likely choice for summer, but be sure to pick one Mara Hoffman's brightly colored high rise bottoms. You could mix and match with any color or pattern for a chic, easy style.
Lady Blues is brightening up this Fall/Winter 2012.
Every hue and gradient of lady like blue will be seen this Fall/Winter season. The color story for Fall/Winter 2012 is filled with colors like robin's egg, deep sea, bright blue, turquoise, and baby blue. I was excited by this Anthropologie gradient love seat, and its Victorian style framing. Peep toed booties are an excellent accessory to your collared sheath dress as well as over sized fedoras and bows. Accessories like small velvet carrying bags will be the finishing touch on your outfit. Wool, velvet, and silk are what this winter is all about, so don't be afraid to mix textures in an outfit.
Would you wear a Mara Hoffman geometric bikini with wooden stacked bracelets to the beach this summer? Or maybe an unusual bright colored mini dress to a garden party?
Or are you more interested in stepping out in a subtly sexy bright blue sheath dress and velvet peep toe booties? Too refined? Maybe you're more interested in spunky accessories like an over sized fedora and baby blue tights?
I would love to hear your opinion, just drop me a comment.
Okay-- not sure that I would wear a bikini (that is just me)-- but I love the geometric storyboard! I think it lends itself to some interesting designs and great shapes.
ReplyDeleteThose blue hues are fantastic! I think you are spot on with the blue trend. Geometric will be fun to wear in spring as well!
ReplyDeleteI am loving the geometric influence in your first storyboard! very creative
ReplyDeleteYou have a real eye for color! These boards look very well thought through and have a nice sense of balance. Well played ma'am.
ReplyDeleteI love the swimsuits in your first storyboard! Bright geometric shapes are always exciting and definitely look great on simple pieces.
ReplyDeleteI love the geometric story board! I think it's very well developed and has a lot of potential for inspiration.
ReplyDeleteI love the geometric stuff to death.
ReplyDeleteI also just wanna say your writing style is really nice. Its really suitable to the purpose of this blog (outside of a class requirement). You portray the fashion suggestions really well in ways that make them sound appealing. I know its not really a comment on your boards but yours is one of the few I actually read all the way through.
The geometric story board is my definite fav. I love how cohesive it is.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on your boards. I really like the blue one, but I think you could expand on your color palette. Perhaps you could include some colors that compliment the blue?
ReplyDeleteI've been seeing those bathing suits so often-I'm in love with them. (Free people is selling one of them) I feel like my saying that it's my favorite thing ever goes without saying.
ReplyDeleteI can say with a lot of certainty that I've never seen an all blue storyboard before. Or maybe I have, but they've all been forgettable- either way, that one is making me seriously reconsider not having that color in my wardrobe. I have some fabric and now I'll do something with it.
i ABSOLUTELY LOVE! the influence that lady blues story board has. i get a lot of my inspiration from blue tones in a lot of my designs and i really feel that your story board is successful
ReplyDeleteI really love your geometrics board the most. The patterns are so cool and the colors are fun.
ReplyDeleteI am obsessed with the first storyboard! Everything ties together, even the title has a geometric shape to tie everything together. All the colors really grabbed my attention. And aside from the storyboards.. I love the background of your blog!
